Meet the two newest ‘Finding Dory’ characters
Do you speak whale? If not, you’ve got a few months to brush up on your lingo, friends. We’re headed back to the ocean with Marlin, Nemo, and Dory, and they’re about to come face-to-face with a beluga and a whale shark.
The sequel to 2003’s Finding Nemo, Finding Dory, is EASILY one of the most heavily anticipated movies of the next year. The story will pick up roughly six months after the end of Finding Nemo, and find our fishy friends still swimming around the big blue world. But this time, the story is all about Dory, as she goes on a cross-ocean adventure to find her parents — if she can remember them, that is.
Along the way, Dory’s going to meet some exciting marine life, and Entertainment Weekly just releaased an image of one pair. Say hello to Ty Burrell and Kaitlin Olson’s Bailey and Destiny, a sunb-nose beluga whale and whale shark, respectively. From the picture released, they are literally the cutest creatures under the sea.
Though they might be the cutest, and we can’t wait to buy plush toys in their linkess to cuddle, just like Dory (and Marlin) they’ve got a few odd quirks. Burrell’s Bailey has some trouble with his sonar capability, and as for Olson’s Destiny, she can’t swim straight. We love them already.
“We totally get on each other’s nerves,” Olson explains to Entertainment Weekly. “I like to think I’m a shark, but Bailey calls me a whale, and I make fun of his head, because it’s gigantic.”
It’s hard to tell if either one of them will be able to replace Bruce “fish are friends not food” the Shark from the first movie in our hearts, but it sounds like they’re sure going to try. You can catch Bailey, Destiny, Dory, Nemo, and Marlin on June 17, 2016 when Finding Dory splashes into theaters.
