Big, big YES to the new ‘Fantastic Four’ trailer

It seems like 20th Century Fox is taking advantage of the fact that a lot of us are snowed in right now and trolling around the Internet looking for excitement. They couldn’t have picked a better day to drop the trailer for the new Fantastic Four movie. The preview is awesome but a wee bit cryptic, that said we are willing to put GOOD money on the film’s amazingness thanks to the powerhouse situation that is this movie’s incredible cast.

I for one can’t wait to see Michael B. Jordan (remember him being incredible in Fruitvale Station, and Parenthood, and Friday Night Lights) take up the mantel of the Human Torch. The team is rounded out by Miles Teller (who we already love) as Reed Richards/Mr. Fantastic, Kate Mara as Sue Storm/The Invisible Woman (so much yasssss), and Jamie Bell as Ben Grimm/The Thing.

Director Josh Trank (who is SUPER young btw) is calling the movie less of a reboot and more of a re-imagining of the series (the Fantastic Four started out as comic books), which was first got the movie treatment 10 years ago. This new movie looks like it’s bringing more drama, more characterization, and a lot of seriously awesome special effects. We don’t get a lot of plot reveals in the trailer — but we do get a lot of exciting glimpses into this brand new Fantastic Four world.

As for what this fantastic foursome will do — save Earth, of course.

The Fantastic Four will make their debut in theaters on August 7, but you can get a sneak peek at the action from the trailer below:

Pretty dope, right?
