The new Converse collection looks pretty familiar

For those looking to refresh their Converse sneaker arsenal, the iconic brand is introducing their upcoming collection, Converse All Star Modern. The new styles are inspired by their original All Star sneaker from 1920, but with updated features and modern footwear technology. “We took out all the layers we didn’t need and combined things so that the shoe would be as light as possible,” creative director Bryan Cioffi told Fast Company. The result is a stylish, lightweight shoe that pays homage to the classic sneaker Converse is known for.

As for the design of the All Star Modern, we couldn’t help but notice it looks similar to another shoe — the Yeezy Boost 350.

Doesn’t the grainy pattern on the All Star Moderns look a teeny bit like Kanye West’s sold-out shoe?

Converse is also releasing a limited edition sneaker called the All Star Modern HTM, which comes in either black or white, and is made of goat leather.

If you want to put either of these shoes on your hooves, the HTM launches on June 9 for $180, and will be available at NikeLab retail stores and NikeLab.com. The All Star Modern will be available on June 16 at $140 for the high top style, and $130 for the low top, at Converse retail stores, select retailers, and at Converse.com.
