Jennifer Romolini: I knew about Gaby Hoffman before this year (I mean, she was in Uncle Buck) , but between her stellar/bare/relatable/sometimes breathtaking performance in Transparent, her best-friend-in-the-world in Jenny Slate’s Obvious Child, and her portrayal of Adam’s feral, troublemaking (but somehow still sympathetic) sister in Girls, she’s reached hero-queen status for me, and I’ll never forget her again.
Karlie Kloss, aka that cool model
Elena Sheppard: I’ll admit to a full-fledged girl crush. She’s Instagram-perfect, gorgeous, into coding, loves cookies, has enviable style, is BFFs with Tay-Tay. . . Need I say more?
Noah Wiseman, aka the kid from The Babadook
Piper Weiss: Seriously, this child is a genius.
Riz Ahmed, aka wait, isn’t he from Nightcrawler?
Sophia Elias: He played Rick in Nightcrawler and there was just so much humanity to him.

Gina Vaynshteyn: After renting 12 Years a Slave like a million months after it came out in theaters, I looked her up online and saw what a smart, amazing lady she is. And how fashionable and lovely and cool. I mean, just her Instagram is so cute and fun to keep up with.
Tatiana Maslany, aka that girl from that show about the clones
Caroline Gerdes: OK, I was a little late to catch the Orphan Black train, but I inhaled every episode this summer and she is amazing. She plays almost every character, and it never feels like she is talking to herself.

Erin Mallory Long: I’m obsessed with “Shower” and then I saw her open for Demi Lovato and she was a dream. Love, love, love.
