We are PSYCHED about the three new cast members on “SNL”

When Saturday Night Live stars Taran Killam and Jay Pharoah announced that they were leaving the show earlier this summer, we weren’t sure what to expect or who would replace them in the show’s upcoming season.

However, NBC announced today that THREE new cast members have been added to the sketch comedy’s lineup and we’re so pumped to see what these actors and comedians can bring to the table, er, stage, this coming October!

Mikey Day

Mikey Day has actually been a writer for Saturday Night Live since 2013, but is now a featured cast member! This obviously isn’t his first sketch comedy rodeo, though; he was a cast member on MTV’s Wild ‘n Out, was on a sketch comedy series on Showtime called The Underground, and is a voice actor and writer for Robot Chicken.

Alex Moffat

Alex Moffat has kept a relatively low profile, but is pretty well-known in the improv community. According to Deadline, he was a  “featured performer at The Second City, Zanies, The Comedy Bar, and The Annoyance. He also wrote on and starred in a sketch comedy pilot for NBC.”

Melissa Villaseñor

Melissa Villaseñor was a top-16 finalist on Season 6 of America’s Got Talent. She’s known for her impressions and actually nails every single one! We’re super stoked to see what she can do on the show!

Season 42 of SNL premieres on October 1 on NBC.
