New Bachelor Nick Viall has this to say about sex, and we’re not mad about it

If you’ve been following the twists and turns of Nick Viall’s Bachelor Nation career over the last couple years, then you know he once got himself into some pretty hot water when he revealed (on national television) that he and Bachelorette Andi Dorfman had slept together. Dorfman was apparently incredibly embarrassed by the “out” and both contestants received some heat because of it.

But Viall is opening up about the incident and why he didn’t think mentioning they’d been intimate was all that big a deal at the time. And well, we kind of totally get it.

In an interview with People, he said, "I don't think sex is a taboo thing. [...] I'm an open book so I don't mind the fact that it's out there. People are well aware of the fact that Andi and I slept together, as well Kaitlyn and I (on a different Bachelorette season), but I slept with two women that at the time I felt deeply for and thought there was a good chance I could end up with."

He went on to note, “By a lot of people’s opinions, I’m slutty or a man whore simply because of those two things. It’s a little silly. I’m no saint, but that’s not who I am.”

You know, Nick’s actually making a lot of sense.

While we don’t necessarily condone him speaking freely about his sex life when he hadn’t checked in to make sure the other person involved was cool with that, we ALSO get the perspective that sex between two consenting adults is totally natural and normal, so we can see why he genuinely didn’t think it was a big deal to talk about.

And, like he said, his biggest crime was sleeping with a woman who he genuinely hoped to marry — hardly all that risqué.

Bottom line, we feel you, Nick, and we actually totally see how you got yourself into this one.

Now, when does the new season of The Bachelor start?! Because we can’t. freaking. wait.
