A full-length ‘AHS’ trailer is here it’s the stuff of nightmares
If your weekly television watching has felt a bit horror-less, have no fear (0r rather, get ready to feel the fear) — the new season of American Horror Story: Hotel is set to premiere on FX on Wednesday, October 7th. To get us pumped, the first trailer “Hallways” was released today and it is both super creepy and intriguing. We’re glad we saw it after our Labor Day vacations ended because after watching the trailer, we may never, ever stay at a hotel again.
It took us a couple of views to realize all the series’ stars flashing on screen, including Sarah Paulson, Kathy Bates, Angela Bassett. And of course the newest edition that’s got us totally psyched, Lady Gaga, who is sporting some Guinness-World-Record length hair. Ryan Murphy, the co-creator and executive producer (and the showrunner, director, and writer —when does he sleep?) described Lady Gaga’s character as a bisexual “wealthy social doyenne” who is “consumed with art and fashion and people, and she has a nefarious plan that is revealed in the first episode.” Wicked.
The trailer, which shows the characters strutting around the eerily gaudy hotel, is all kinds of awesome. Angela Bassett, who plays Ramona, is wearing a glam starlet dress and looks as devious as ever. Katy Bates, playing Iris the hotel manager, moodily holds up a set of keys. There’s a white room filled with bouncing children in all black. And that’s just the beginning.
If you can’t get enough, FX also released a synopsis of its first episode “Checking In” in which detective John Lowe, played by Wes Bentley, arrives at the Hotel Cortez after there has been a “chain of gruesome murders.” It is at the hotel where he will meet the mysterious occupants of this “enigmatic” hotel. We’re already hooked, even if it means watching the show with all the lights on and doors bolted shut!
