The women of Netflix will make you feel like you can accomplish anything with this super empowering artwork

Netflix has no shortage of badass ladies, and seeing some of its strongest, female characters together is beyond empowering. Thankfully, here’s wonderfully retro, composite artwork that does just that.

Front and center is one of Netflix’s latest empowering, female characters — GLOW’s wrestler-on-the-rise Ruth, played by Alison Brie. She’s joined by fellow wrestlers Debbie (Betty Gilpin), Carmen (Britney Young), and Tammé (Kia Stevens). Then there’s Orange is the New Black’s Sophia (Laverne Cox), Alex (Laura Prepon), Suzanne (Uzo Aduba), and Gloria (Selenis Leyva).

Other characters include Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt’s title heroine (Ellie Kemper) and Grace and Frankie’s, well, Grace (Jane Fonda) and Frankie (Lily Tomlin). Plus, many more! It’s a formidable group, if you ask us.

And together, the characters’ message is, “TOGETHER WE RULE.”

And the message is true. Many of the pictured characters have had their differences. Without giving too much away, Ruth and Debbie are at odds throughout much of GLOW’s first season. When they finally join wrestling forces, they not only survive — they thrive. And better yet, that’s just one example of on-screen female camaraderie.

Talk about feeling empowered!

The artwork arrives as Netflix has stressed its support of women working together as a collective, shifting their focus from “me” to “we.” Additionally, Netflix expressed its commitment to developing female talent in front of AND behind the camera, in order to tell honest stories about modern female relationships.

Yes, please! It’s important that women are depicted and reflected as they are in real life. It’s important that authentic stories are told about all sorts of women because representation matters. So, here’s to seeing more characters like the above — and to more women working on and off-screen.
