Quick! Watch these Netflix titles before they disappear in May
Guys, it’s that time again! It’s the end-of-the-month rush where we binge everything that’s soon-to-be disappearing from Netflix. Every month we know it’s coming, but every month we get bummed out all over again. What happens if we have a sudden craving to watch Along Came Polly????
But first, the good news: Come May, we’re gaining some great titles like Inglourious Basterds, The Boxtrolls, Jen Kirkman’s standup special I’m Gonna Die Alone (And I Feel Fine), and Legally Blonde, a movie that never gets old. Plus, Netflix is debuting an original series, Grace & Frankie, on May 8 that’s sure to be uhh-mazing (hi, Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin).
Alas, all good things must come to an end — including the lifespan of many movies on Netflix. Here’s a full list of what’s coming and going, and the dates for when a few of our faves are biting the dust (you know, so you can plan your lives).
A Knight’s Tale (May 1)
Bang, right out of the gate. This one hurts. I suggest you Netflix it one last time, then pick up a copy in the $5 bin at your local Walmart. No regrets.
Airplane! (May 1)
Surely you can always use a little spoof comedy. And don’t call me Shirley.
BASEketball (May 1)
This movie is unbelievably silly, but we dare you not to laugh. Basketball with baseball rules? It’s genius.
Divine Secrets of the YaYa Sisterhood (May 1)
Sandra Bullock. Maggie Smith. Ashley Judd. Shall we go on? Have a girls’ night in and watch this one with your besties.
The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement (May 3)
Confession: I will never not love anything and everything Princess Diaries-related. Team Fat Louie for life.
Skyfall (May 5)
Even if it’s not your favorite Bond movie, it was nice to know it was there as an option.
1428 (May 6)
What would this list be without a documentary? Check out this one about the aftermath of an earthquake that took place at 14:28 back in 2008.
Grimm’s Snow White (May 12)
This is not your average Disney fairytale. This is based on the Brothers Grimm version sooooo yeah. It’s way darker.
Fun Size (May 16)
Girl babysits brother. Girl loses brother. Girl scrambles to find brother before mom finds out and freaks. What’s not to love?
No Woman, No Cry (May 20)
This important documentary about the struggle for care during pregnancy and childbirth makes scary statistics a reality. Oh, and it was directed by Christy Turlington Burns.
The New Guy (May 28)
Everybody loves a story about a nerd with a second chance. See also: Zooey!
Get binging, Gigglers! But don’t worry — a bit a few of these will make a Netflix comeback cameo at some point or another!
