Netflix *might* have just revealed Lorelai and Luke’s relationship status during “Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life”
When it comes to Rory Gilmore there are a few different teams you can join, whether it be Team Dean, Team Logan, or Team Jess (and the correct answer to this question is: Team Jess). As for her mother, Lorelai, there’s one choice, and one choice alone: Team Luke all the way.
It could be argued that Lorelai and Luke have an even more up and down relationship that Rory than any of her suitors. One second they’re together, and then they’re broken up and Kirk is hanging out solidarity ribbons all over town. The next second they’re planning a wedding, and then Luke’s pushed back the wedding. And then, Lorelai marries Christopher and it’s a big Stars Hollow mess.
When Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life picks up, we know that Lorelai and Luke are going strong (and a few pictures released from Netflix have confirmed this). Thinking about these two, though, we can’t help but assume that they are eventually headed down the aisle, and maybe a baby in the future, too. Both of these things have actually been teased over the last year, and every single time the relationship status between Lorelai and Luke comes up we have NO CHILL.
So, go ahead and prepare yourself because Netflix may have just accidentally revealed whether or not Lorelai and Luke make it official. There’s a handful of new Gilmore Girls images today, and one of them shows Luke and Jess (❤️) sitting in the diner.
This image is from the episode “Fall,” and if you ask us, one BIG THING is missing:
Do you see what’s missing? Here, we’ll help you out:
Luke isn’t wearing a wedding ring on his left hand. If he and Lorelai were married, you better believe he’d be wearing a ring to proudly declare his love for the elder Gilmore girl.
As previous stated, this image is from “Fall,” which is the last episode of the Gilmore Girls revival. That means, there’s probably not a wedding during “Winter,” “Spring,” or “Summer.” Maybe they’re saving the big day for “Fall?” Or who knows, maybe they are in fact married, and Luke just takes his ring off while he’s at the diner, so it doesn’t fall off into blueberry pancake mix. Good thinking, Luke.
And in case you’re wondering, it looks like Jess isn’t wearing a wedding ring, either, so…
