Netflix has blessed our queues with a ton of new content, just in time for Labor Day weekend
Netflix giveth and Netflix taketh away, something all of us streaming fiends know too well. Luckily, just in time for Labor Day weekend, Netflix’s September releases are here — and they’re just right for the long weekend. There’s enough TV and good movies to binge on until you can get your first Pumpkin Spice Latte of the season. So what’s already available?
The new additions to Netflix are pretty solid.
You might have already noticed that Narcos is back with a third season. When you’re done with that, there’s a whole slew of movies and comedies to check out. We are losing some good stuff, though. Like, if you haven’t watched Emperor’s New Groove in a minute, you might want to add it to your queue. Army Wives, Lilo & Stitch, Jackass, Drumline, and A Nightmare on Elm Street are all also leaving the streaming service, so watch while you can.
But that’s not so bad! Especially when you consider all of the good things coming out over the course of September. As always, new shows, including Netflix originals, are released randomly throughout the month. In addition to Narcos, other Netflix originals, including Fuller House, are making a comeback with new episodes. New originals and documentaries, such as American Vandal and First They Killed My Father are also debuting.

In addition to some new things, all of the Jaws movies are being added, so you can have a full-on Labor Day shark-fest marathon at your crib if you so desire. Disney’s Hercules and Mulan are also ready for you to watch, which you should do since the production company will eventually pull its content from Netflix. Gangs of New York, Requiem for a Dream, and Gone Baby Gone are also being made available.

Comedy specials from Jerry Seinfeld, Marc Maron, and Joaquín Reyes, a Spanish comedian, also have release dates later in the month. New seasons of Call the Midwife, BoJack Horseman, The Walking Dead, and Blacklist are also coming. As if that wasn’t enough, amazing documentaries like The Reagan Show or Ex Libris, about the New York Public Library, in addition to a crime documentary Strong Island are coming out, too. And did we mention you’ll be able to watch the live-action Beauty and the Beast on September 19th? Because That. Is. Happening.
There’s so much to watch! With all these new releases and the upcoming onslaught of fall network TV previews, you basically never have to leave your house again. And now that it’s kind of chilly outside (on the east coast, at least), why would you even want to?
