Try and stay calm, because Netflix might pull a Beyoncé and completely drop the next Marvel show on us at any second
Netflix knows how obsessed we are with their Marvel shows and it looks like they’re about to pull a Beyoncé and release their newest series without telling us. Seriously. Constant vigilance, friends, because, Marvel’s The Punisher could appear any any moment.
The streaming platform just released a very bloody first trailer for the new series, and it seems Frank Castle is back in all his vengeful glory. Reprising his role from Daredevil, Jon Bernthal returns as Castle, who is out for revenge against the people responsible for the death of his family. Along the way, he discovers a conspiracy that runs a whole lot deeper than he could have ever imagined.

It looks wild, right?
After a very well-received tenure on the second season of Daredevil, where Castle was first introduced, Netflix quickly moved forward on a spin-off series centering on the brutal vigilante. Also reprising her role in the Netflix Marvel Television Universe is Deborah Ann Woll as Karen Page — with Matt Murdock dead/MIA, she’s got to keep fighting for her city somehow, you know?
While The Punisher may be the latest in the ever-expanding series of Marvel shows, this series seems to be taking things to a much darker level.
The series also stars Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Castle’s former NSA analyst frenemy David Lieberman, Westworld‘s Ben Barnes as Castle’s best friend Billy Russo, and Amber Rose Revah as Homeland Security agent Dinah Madani. Based on the trailer, it looks like we can expect some serious action (complete with an obscene amount of shootouts), drama, and honestly at least *one* heartbreaking betrayal.
And for when The Punisher will drop? ¯_(ツ)_/¯ The teaser starts to reveal the month and day, before everything cuts to black. Punisher will arrive sometime in 2017…but no one knows when. Guess we’ll just have to cancel all our plans until December 31st, and keep checking Netflix daily!
