Netflix is making an adult animated comedy about puberty, because it’s the worst for everyone
We’ve just found your new favorite puberty comedy — and wait, just hear us out!
Netflix has released the trailer for its upcoming animated adult comedy, Big Mouth, which was created by Nick Kroll and Andrew Goldberg. Starring John Mulaney and Kroll — the geniuses who turned a joke about tuna into a successful Broadway show AND Netflix special — as preteen best friends, Andrew and Nick. The series follows them and their fellow preteens as they come face to face with the puberty fairy hormone monster and all the other perks (???) of puberty.
Check out the hilarious and cringeworthy — and definitely NSFW — trailer below:

We already know that the show is going to make us laugh, cringe, and relive puberty in the best way possible — that is, knowing it’ll never happen again.
Big Mouth is unabashed in its gross approach, tackling the everyday awkwardness of puberty like periods and voice changes to the uncomfortable nitty-gritty (ahem, wet dreams) that made health class the most dreaded experience in all of middle school. The series seems like it’ll also tackle other cringeworthy puberty moments like The Talk and dating. Sure, the animated series may be *about* puberty, but the opening seconds of the trailer make it clear that this animated series is not for kids.
Kroll and Mulaney are joined by a host of our other favorite comedians, including Maya Rudolph, Jason Mantzoukas, Jordan Peele, Fred Armisen, Jenny Slate and Jessi Klein.
The 10 episode first season will, like puberty, steamroll onto Netflix on September 29th!
