Netflix just made this binge watching decision for you

Netflix gives you 15 seconds to make the most important decision of your day: Do you stop watching, or let the next episode autoplay, thus containing on with your binge for another two (or 10) episodes?

And if you’re not sure if you want to keep watching, don’t you subconsciously let the clock count down? It’s not like you’re going to stop watching your show after the next episode has started. And this is exactly how you end up accidentally binging Once Upon A Time until 3 a.m. in the morning.

Netflix knows this struggle, and since it is our best friend/sometimes worst enemy, it’s gone ahead and taken that choice away from us. With the newest update to Netflix’s iOS app, the autoplay option is gone. Now, Netflix simply automatically plays the next episode, keeping your binge alive for another 22/43 minutes, depending on the show, of course.

According to Netflix, this change is to make our viewing more “fluid,” but that secretly means, “keep us watching Netflix even longer.”

“[This change] is just to make things really, really stupid simple,” Netflix’s vice president of product innovation, Chris Jaffe, told Business Insider.

Right now, this is only for iOS, so if you’re watching Netflix on an Android device, or a TV, the choice to stop binging is still available.

As for everyone else, good luck.
