We have some good news for Netflix fans

That horrible moment when you reach the last episode in your binge-watching session could soon be no more, because Netflix is planning to double its number of original shows in 2016. This year, the on-demand streaming service produced sixteen original scripted series. Next year, they’re bumping that number up to an impressive 31.

That’s not all. Netflix announced all these major plans at the UBS Global Media and Communications Conference in New York City, stating that in addition to these original series, they’re also planning ten feature films, ten standup specials, and twelve documentaries.

We already know a little bit of what’s to come. The first few months of 2016 are bringing us Chelsea Handler’s new talk show, plus movies like Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon: Sword Of Destiny, and Pee Wee’s Big Holiday. Then, of course, there are the big ones slated for release later in the year, like Fuller House and Brad Pitt’s War Machine. There will also be another Marvel series, Luke Cage, and Judd Apatow’s Love.

I guess what we’re saying is, if you haven’t stocked up on snacks and pillows for 2016, you better start now, because we have a big year of TV ahead.
