Netflix Just Announced a Whole Slate of New Movies and We Are *Overwhelmed*

The platform is releasing a new movie every week for the entirety of 2021.

After the events of last week and more of the same coronavirus routine, we know what most of you are thinking right about now—is 2021 really going to be any better than 2020? According to Netflix, yes. Yes, it is. This morning, January 12th, Netflix announced that it will be dropping a brand new movie every week…for the entire year. Thank GOODNESS.

“2021 = a new movie EVERY WEEK on Netflix,” the official Netflix Film Twitter account tweeted. “Here’s a sneak peek at 27 of the biggest, brightest, fastest, funniest, feel-good, feel-everything films and stars coming to Netflix this year.”

Films like Malcolm & Marie, the movie Zendaya made while in lockdown; The Harder They Fall, a remake of the classic 1956 Humphrey Bogart western starring Idris Elba, Regina King, Zazie Beetz, LaKeith Stanfield; Thunder Force starring Octavia Spencer and Melissa McCarthy; Bruised directed by and starring Halle Berry; and Tick, Tick…Boom! directed by Lin-Manuel Miranda and starring Andrew Garfield, will all be heading to the streaming platform this year.

Is that Noah Centineo…on one knee in the sneak peek of the final installment of the To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before trilogy, Always and Forever?

Yeah…that’s what we were gonna say!

Furthermore, the Amy Adams-let thrilled The Woman in the Window, Escape from Spiderhead starring Chris Hemsworth, and Yes Day starring Jennifer Garner are also on the Netflix list, with so many more. Fifty-two new movies to look forward to every week in 2021? That’s something we can absolutely get behind in the year ahead.

After the year we just had, we deserve having movie night every night, and thankfully Netflix is coming in clutch to help us unwind from the chaos of 2020. Our hero.
