You need to see “Glee’s” Amber Riley SLAY this performance of “And I’m Telling You I’m Not Going” from “Dreamgirls”
We already knew that she had an incredible voice, but Amber Riley singing this iconic number from Dreamgirls,“And I’m Telling You I’m Not Going,” will literally give you goosebumps with how stunning it is.
The former Glee star is currently starring in the stage version of Dreamgirls in London’s historic West End, and at the Olivier Awards (the country’s version of the Tonys) on April 10th the singer took home the prestigious award for Best Actress in a Musical for her turn as Effie White in the show, which charters the ascension and tribulations of a Supremes-esque girlband.

While at the awards, however, Amber Riley also took to the stage to perform the iconic song “And I’m Telling You I’m Not Going” from Dreamgirls.
The song is one of the musical’s most famous moments, and has been sung by everyone from the likes of Jennifer Holiday to Jennifer Hudson, who won an Oscar for her portrayal of Effie White in the movie version.
Gracing the stage, Riley performed her own version of the song, and it’s so incredible that it’ll give you chills.

Following Riley’s performance, Jennifer Holiday, who played Effie White in the original stage musical, took to Twitter to praise the younger singer’s talent.
“Congrats @MsAmberPRiley on UR WIN! @OlivierAwards Over 35yrs since Dreamgirls, I watched you perform tonite & You gave me chills- SO PROUD! [sic],” she wrote.

Along with Holiday, another newer Broadway icon gave a shoutout to Riley, too, with Hamilton creator Lin-Manuel Miranda shared his adoration on social media.

Riley responded to Miranda’s tweet with some thanks, and a cheeky ask: for some tickets to Hamilton.
"Thank you for being an inspiration to me and many others....can a sista get some tickets to Hamilton #notthrowingawaymyshot " she wrote.
However, if this tweet is anything to go by, it looks like she might be in luck…

As Entertainment Weekly point out, this isn’t the first time that Amber Riley has sung the heck out of “And I’m Telling You…” The singer used the song to audition for Glee, and later went on to sing the track on the show’s first season.
