Mermaids certainly step out of the sea to celebrate National Pumpkin Day

It’s National Pumpkin Day!

I mean, what says October better than a pumpkin at your front door? (Okay, maybe it’s the autumn leaves you haven’t yet raked up, but mostly the pumpkins.) They represent one of the most fun, most yummy seasons of the year (whether you’re a candy fan, Pumpkin Spice Latte fan, pumpkin pie fan, or just a fan of the colors of the season).

I, personally, just moved back to the States this month, and arriving during pumpkin season was one of the best gifts timing could give me.

The history of the pumpkin is not actually ancient. The pumpkin is a new world invention (kind of like squash), comes mostly from America and South America, and quickly became a part of our Halloween culture.

So what better way to celebrate today than by enjoying anything that contains pumpkin, or by going shopping for your own pumpkin? We’re sure even mermaids step out of the sea for this one.

Hope you swim by next week, and Happy Pumpkin Day!
