Nathalie Emmanuel on shooting *that* “Game of Thrones” nude scene

The first two episodes of Game of Thrones Season 7 have brought the surprises and drama twofold as we approach the end of the series. But don’t worry, there’s still time for love in between the fighting. Specifically, Missandei and Grey Worm spent the night together and it was beautiful.

In Season 7, Episode 2 (“Stormborn”), these two loyal members of Dany’s team find out they may never see each other again — leading to a tender last night spent together.

Missandei (Nathalie Emmanuel) and Grey Worm (Jacob Anderson) have spent a lot of time side by side and clearly care about one another deeply. So when Missandei discovers Grey Worm is being sent to Casterly Rock on a mission, she decides they should cherish what could be their last night.

Emmanuel told Entertainment Weekly about the beautiful scene:

“We’ve seen them show their interest in each other, we’ve seen them in a roundabout way express it for each other, but not really say it, she said. “This point is the climax and they physically act upon it.

And while nude scenes can be super awkward for everyone involved, she said her cast mates told her about their first nude experiences to help her feel more comfortable. She added of her experience:

"It was treated very well and very respectfully and I feel like we had a really great day showing these two characters being completely vulnerable with each other."

Not to mention, it’s nice to see the show take a break from the scheming and death, and feature such a powerful, intimate moment.

“There’s love displayed in this show in so many ways, but it’s normally so tragic," Emmanuel said. "They have tragedy in their past, but they found something useful from that and I love how the showrunners have decided to preserve that. It doesn’t happen often but when it does it really resonates.
