Natalia Dyer is giving us hope for our favorite Stranger Things couple in Season 4
Being keenly aware that Netflix’s Stranger Things Season 4 may be the show’s last, we’re in panic mode about the loose ends that need tying up. Specifically, there’s Hopper’s fate/budding relationship with Joyce, the overall existence of the Upside Down, and, oh yeah, all the long-distance relationships that were created by the Byers family moving away (with Eleven in tow). There are just a lot of things the Duffer Brothers need to hash out, and amid all that, we have some dreams for Nancy Wheeler. And Stranger Things star Natalia Dyer does, too.
If you remember, Nancy is currently tied to Jonathan Byers, older brother to Will, who was the first victim of the Upside Down.
“I feel like long-distance is hard nowadays, so imagine long-distance relationships back then,” Dyer told Elle.com while co-hosting the November 5th launch of the NYC-based Sandro boutique.
But now that Jonathan is physically out of the picture, will the old adage “out of sight, out of mind” affect his relationship with Nancy? Dyer thinks maybe. And she even hints that Nancy might just reconnect with her old flame, Steve Harrington, whom she broke up with at the end of Season 2.
"I’d love to see if her and Steve would ever get back together, or at least if they get closure," Dyer told Elle.com. "Will their chapter ever close? I'm very curious."
Uh…SAME. “Stancy” stans rejoice!
Furthermore, Dyer hopes that Nancy makes some more girlfriends in the upcoming Stranger Things season. “Also, I want her to get a female friend,” Dyer added. “RIP Barb.”
RIP Barb, indeed.
Perhaps Nancy can befriend someone who helps her investigate the goings-on caused by the monsters of the Upside Down, as she did in Season 3. “I see [Nancy] as this person in pursuit of information and justice and I can’t see her putting that investigative nose down,” said Dyer. “So I hope she continues doing something along those lines.”
"She started to get a lot more confident," Dyer continued. "I loved seeing the sensitive side of Nancy and the badass side of Nancy. I hope she’s still going strong and her instincts and her passion remains intact."
Maybe with all that passion, Nancy will be the president of the Season 4 Episode 1 “Hellfire Club.” Who knows?
