We’ve got some exciting (and also tragic) news about “Nashville”
Gather round, ya’ll, Nashville just got its return date.
After a four year run on ABC, Nashville is making the move to the CMT network. Although CMT is just starting to get into scripted TV, their roster is off to a great start as they get Nashville back on the air. We don’t know who’s coming back, or how much time will have passed, or what will have happened in the interim, but we do know this…
Nashville will return to our television screens and hearts on January 5th, 2017.
On one hand, we’re thrilled to finally know when it’s coming back!
On the other hand, we’re heartbroken to find out we have to wait until next year, even if it is only a few months away. (133 days, to be exact.)
We’re also excited, though, because Head of Development at CMT, Jayson Dinsmore, told Deadline:
“Beginning with Nashville in January, each series will help launch the next; creating an overlay to cycle viewers through our originals year round.”
Which sounds like a recipe for a whole lot more awesome to look forward to from CMT. Dinsmore also gave us a lot more to look forward to in moving Nashville to CMT when he spoke to Deadline in June.
“We’re thinking about doing an aftershow. Nothing’s set in stone but imagine if we did sort of a Talking Dead for Nashville where we had some of the cast, maybe some performances, maybe some fans come and talk about the show. We do it in the studio, sort of engage the audience and that loyal fan base on a deeper level. That’s something we can afford to do in cable that they probably don’t have the opportunity at broadcast.”
Even though we’re going to have to wait a little while, could we be any more excited about Nashville coming back?
