Sad news — Naomi Watts and Liev Schreiber are splitting up after 11 years

We’ve got some sad news for fans of Naomi Watts and Liev Schreiber — the couple has decided to split, after 11 years together. It’s especially shocking, since the couple seemed rock solid just weeks before the announcement was made.
In fact, just earlier this month, Schreiber attended the Toronto International Film Festival to promote his new drama The Bleeder, and gave some tips on how to maintain a long lasting relationship.
"It's all about patience, and we got lucky enough to work together," Schreiber said to Us Weekly. "I think just being kind, patient and having quiet nights in together is the best for us."
Late Monday, the pair gave their official statement on the split.
"Over the past few months we've come to the conclusion that the best way forward for us as a family is to separate as a couple," the statement said. "It is with great love, respect, and friendship in our hearts that we look forward to raising our children together and exploring this new phase of our relationship...While we appreciate your curiosity and support, we ask the press to be mindful of our children and respect their right to privacy."
This gif sums up how we feel about all of this:
The couple, who started dating back in 2005 and have two sons together, never married. Looks like 2016 is just a rough year for celebrity couples.
