40 names your BFFs definitely had in the 2000s

There were always certain names that were super popular amongst your middle and high school peers, right? On the first day of school, when the teacher would perform role call, they’d inevitably end up calling out the same names more than once. Then things would get real messy as nicknames were decided and faces were memorized.

We imagine that the above scenario was especially tricky in the 2000s because man those names were the definition of popular. I mean, we can name a ton of celebs with the names we’re seeing on the Social Security Administration’s “Top names of the 2000s” list.

Here’s what we’re talking about:

The above forty names reigned supreme among the 21,253,564 males and 20,300,005 females who were born during the time period of 2000-2009. By far, there were plenty of Emilys and even more Jacobs. Also, we most-definitely knew at least five Christophers and a handful of Samanthas.

Back in the 2000s, we imagine that your clique also included names such as Emma, Madison, Joshua, and Michael. But, even if they didn’t, we’re even more sure of the fact that you probably know a ton of celebs with the above names. Here are just a few to get your celeb name wheels turning:

Emma Watson. Emma Stone. Taylor Swift. Elizabeth AND Ashley Olsen. Olivia Wilde. Olivia Munn. Abigail Breslin. As for the dudes, there’s Jacob Tremblay. Michael B. Jordan. Michael Buble. Joshua Jackson. Matthew Gray Gubler. Matthew Lewis. Matthew McConaughey. So. Many. Matthews.

Celebs aside, did your name make the cut? And if so, can you feel the 2000s flowing through your veins?
