Last weekend, British Prime Minister David Cameron allegedly blamed recent ISIS recruitment and U.K. radicalization on “the traditional submissiveness of Muslim women.” It was an outrageous, offensive claim to make; and according to The Telegraph, the Prime Minister went on to say that Muslim women needed to “learn English” in order to play a bigger role in protecting men from extremism.
Rather than take the offensive remarks in stride, however, Muslim women around the world have instead decided to fight back using the hashtag #TraditionallySubmissive — proving just how incredibly wrong he was. Here are a few of the most powerful, kickass responses.
