This music video about the clitoris has 2.5 million views

Sir Mix-a-Lot sang about butts (well, big ones, anyway). Frank Zappa, The Rolling Stones, and AC/DC have all dedicated lyrics to boobs. The female anatomy has been well-covered in popular music — with one notable exception. And now, singer-songwriter-performance artist Dorian Electra has teamed up with Refinery29 to right this egregious wrong.

The song came out in March, but appears to be going viral again — “Ode to the Clitoris” currently has over 2.5 million views on Facebook, and with good reason. The electro-pop delight tackles the history of female anatomy and its fractious relationship with the patriarchy with the help of a catchy tune, jokes galore, and a real message about the importance of sex ed at its core. Think of this musical history lesson like Hamilton, but with vaginas. Broadway, are you listening??

As we all know, in Ancient Greece, penises figured prominently into sculpture. The clitoris? Not so much.

And in the 18th century, when there was a huge push to study anatomy, there was unfortunately not so much of a push to study female anatomy.

And what would a history of the clitoris be without FREUD?
