It’s hard to believe, but one of our favorite warrior films turns 20 this year. No, not Braveheart or 300, but the animated film that defied gender stereotypes and showed an entire generation of girls that women can be powerful warriors – all while boasting an incredible soundtrack. Naturally, we’re talking about Mulan.
In the 20 years since we first met Mulan, Li Shang, Yao, Ling, Chien-Po, and Mushu, and they defeated the Huns and saved the Emperor, we’ve seen the film a thousand times and never miss an opportunity to sing one of the many iconic songs from the film. It’s safe to say we’re forever obsessed with Mulan — and are anxiously awaiting the upcoming live action adaptation of the film.
