MTV cancels ‘Eye Candy’ and that’s a major bummer

Sad news for fans of MTV’s Eye Candy — the network has canceled the show. We’re going to need lots of time mourning this one, because it starred Victoria Justice, was a totally twisted thriller, and it was based on a book by R. L. Stine. Not only that, but there was a kidnapped sister, lots of computer hacking, and the race to stop a serial killer. Ugh, MTV, how could you?

Justice broke the news to us on Twitter with two emojis, the looking eyes, and a piece of hard candy. But what followed wasn’t as sweet, with Justice explaining that the show wouldn’t be returning for a second season. “Even though a lot of you are going to feel sad/angry, please know that playing Lindy Sampson, is something that I loved and I will hold dear to my heart. I couldn’t have asked for better cast mates to work with either… I love you all and I’m so excited to see what great things you guys will be doing next. Let’s all grab dinner next week and celebrate a show that we all loved and were so proud to make.”

Eye Candy premiered back in June with a 10-episode season order, and sadly, those are now all the episodes of the series. It’s a shame, too, because Justice was great in it, and it was great to see her in a more adult role — not that we didn’t love her on Zoey 101 and Victorious, because we totally did. But not all TV shows can last forever, and we’ll wait patiently for to see where Justice lands next.
