Finally: The mystery of what happen to Mr. Turner on ‘Boy Meets World’ is solved

The Season 4 finale of Boy Meets World left us with a huge cliffhanger. Yes, this was back in 1997, and no, we haven’t forgotten about it. Cory, Shawn, and Topanga’s teacher, Mr. Turner, gets into a motorcycle accident and is left in pretty bad condition. The season ends, and when Season 5 picks up, the fate if Mr. Turner isn’t resolved. Did he make it? Is he OK? WE NEED TO KNOW. He’s literally not discussed again until the Boy Meets World finale, but even then, we don’t actually see him.

So, after patiently waiting 18 years for an answer, we’ve got one. Mr. Turner made his triumphant return to Girl Meets World, in the episode, “Girl Meets The New Teacher.”  Now he’s turned from a cool teacher into an even cooler school administrator.

After motorcycle accident, and going AWOL for a while, Mr. Turner became the superintendent of the New York City school system. Mr. Turner is actually one one who hired Cory to be a teacher in the first place, and drops new words of wisdom like, “what a kid is taught is what a kid becomes.”

We also learn that Mr. Turner married the nurse who took care of him in the hospital (AWWWWW) and goes over to the Matthews house, like, a million times a week for dinner. Riley even calls him “Uncle John.” Looks like the relationship between him and the Matthews clan is pretty good, even though Topanga’s still mad he once gave her an A minus.

So does this mean Mr. Turner is going to stick around for a while? Hope so. Mr. Turner is still going to pop up in two more episodes this season, and that’s a very good thing. There’s still one really important person who needs to see Mr. Turner, and that’s Shawn. Mr. Turner comments that he loves Shawn “like a son,” so that’s the next tearful BMW/GMW world reunion we need.
