This is the most popular sandwich on Pinterest, and we’re confused

Sandwiches, ah, wonderful sandwiches. With the many choices of bread, cheese, and condiments, we can’t get enough of them. However, Pinterest’s most popular sandwich has us a little confused, because it doesn’t appear to be a sandwich at all—at least, not the traditional version of the sandwiches we’ve come to love.

What’s the sandwich, you ask?

It’s a recipe that substitutes bread with cucumber slices and an added flavor of cheese and roast beef.

This sandwich has been shared 800,000 times on the website.

So it seems like these sandwiches are actually bite sized, low carb treats. It could pass for an appetizer more than anything, which just means we’ll have to eat a few more to fulfill our hunger. Not mad about it.

Pinterest has been blowing up with the no-bread sandwich ideas lately. The no-bread Italian sub roll-up is made of meat, more meat, and a hunk of cheese. This sandwich has been shared and saved 160,000 times.

Finally, Pinterest has introduced another kind of sandwich that has us drooling: the granola crunch apple-peanut butter sandwich wrap. It’s literally a mouthful to say, but a delicious one at that.

Even if you’re not concerned about your carb intake, these wacky little sandwiches look like great fun to make, and we think they might be great little conversation starters at a dinner party. Because who are we to set the rules for what a sandwich looks like?
