Monthly Gift will make our our periods easier and save the world

Sometimes it feels like no matter how hard we try, we’ll never be quite ready for our periods. With the power of smartphones, though, we’re at least able to use period tracking apps to make sure everything goes smoothly. Monthly Gift is one of those apps, but it’s unlike any other period tracker we’ve seen before. Not only does Monthly Gift help you remember when your period is going to happen, but it also sends you all the necessary supplies you’ll need when it comes (and yes, that includes chocolate!).

“At 29- and 30-years-old, our periods still managed to surprise us Every. Single. Month,” creators Kimmy and LisaMarie Scotti admitted when HelloGiggles chatted with them about the app over email. “After constantly running out of tampons and losing track of calendar dates, we realized there had to be a better solution than the countless last-minute, emergency drug store runs!”

The two women decided to create an period tracking app that goes beyond simply alerting when our periods are going to arrive. Monthly Gift keeps track of so many other things that are vital to women’s health and sends users the supplies they need to be prepared exactly when they need them. “We want to own all things downstairs!” the women explained. “Our goal for Monthly Gift is to take a woman through each cycle of life – from her first period through menopause and beyond.”

They continued:

Then, just in time for their period, the Little Black Box (LBB) of Monthly Gift. products arrives on the user’s doorstep, completely customized for their needs.

“We recognize that every body is different and no two women have the same fem care needs. Each LBB is customized to individual cycles based on the information provided in the app, and includes an assortment of tampons, pads, liners, and of course, emergency chocolate!”

This month, in honor of International Women’s Day, the company partnered with Days For Girls, an organization that educates girls all around the world about their bodies  and gives them the resources they need to stay in control of their periods.

“Days For Girls is an incredible organization that provides sustainable feminine hygiene solutions and health education to women and girls in need in over 90 countries around the world,” Kimmy and LisaMarie explained. “Feminine care is a basic necessity for all women and we believe in providing an accessible product and empowering women to take control of their health.”

For every subscription to Monthly Gift in March, the company will donate a Little Black Box of tampons, pads, and liners to Days For Girls to be distributed to those in need.
