This mom found a lovely way to make her late son a part of her wedding

There’s nothing quite like a mother’s love. Oftentimes, the bond between mother and child is something that outlasts life itself. Anna Bozman Thompson, who lost her little boy, Lake, to leukemia last May, knows all about this unbreakable bond. She still loves her son every bit as much as if he were still here. So when she got married last month, despite the joy of the occasion, Lake’s absence was keenly felt. Anna was especially anxious about the family wedding photos, because it was the first time she’d be posing for a family portrait since Lake’s passing.

On Lake’s memorial Facebook page, Anna wrote, “Although I felt his presence that day and I was actually happy, it was almost unbearable to take family pictures without him. I could feel my emotions taking over after the ceremony when it was time to take pictures. I became anxious and almost irritated but I knew these pictures had to be taken.”

If anyone understood Anna’s conflicting emotions, it was her friend Brandy Angel. Brandy runs Be the Change, a non-profit photography business for families with terminally ill children. She worked with Anna’s wedding photographer, Paul Woodward, to create a powerfully beautiful image that shows how much Lake was still very much a part of her family.
