The new ‘Mockingjay — Part 2’ trailer is here and we’re feeling so many feelings
The new, full-length trailer for The Hunger Games: Mockingjay — Part 2 is finally here and, be warned: It’s 2 minutes and 25 seconds of pure feels.
Mockingjay — Part 2 is the final installment of the Hunger Games series and it has a lot to wrap up. Katniss has survived not one, but two Games. She’s become the face of the revolution and embraced her role as the Mockingjay and now she and the rest of the rebels are gearing up to take on (and hopefully take down) the Capitol.
And yet, with all that we have to look forward to in the final Hunger Games, we have so much to look back on, too. And that’s what this trailer, titled “For Prim,” does: It takes us back. We see Katniss, standing proud and fierce in her Mockingjay garb, while scenes (VERY. EMOTIONAL. SCENES.) from the previous movies play in the background. We see Katniss reassuring Prim that she won’t be selected for the Games, Prim being unexpectedly selected for the Games, and Katniss volunteering in her place. We see Katniss in the Games and begging for a few moments to say goodbye to her family. We see Prim promising Katniss that she doesn’t have to worry about her and their mother anymore and helping her see how important she is to the revolution.
Basically, this trailer acts as a supercut of every moment that made you teary-eyed from the first three movies, and somehow, that makes us surer than ever that Mockingjay — Part 2 is going to be a sobfest.
The Hunger Games: Mockingjay — Part 2‘s official release date is November 20, but there will be early showings (and we’re not talking just midnight screenings — some screenings will be as early as 7 p.m.) on November 19, and real superfans can buy tickets for a special double feature of Mockingjay — Part 1 and Part 2 a day earlier, on November 18.
