Ballerina Misty Copeland is the new face of Estée Lauder, and this partnership is on pointe

We’re here for any and everything Misty Copeland. She the first African American principal dancer of the American Ballet Theater and has an incredibly inspiring story as someone who took a non-traditional route to success. (She didn’t get into ballet until she was 13!) If you haven’t already, check out her biography A Ballerina’s Tale — it’s on Netflix.
Today, Misty announced she’s the newest face of Estée Lauder and released an exclusive letter to herself via Glamour Magazine. In the heartfelt letter, she tells her 13-year-old self (and fans) why she feels this moment is so important.
Misty writes,
"One day, you’ll even be in a beauty campaign — wild, right? And why that’s so important is because it matters that women and girls see themselves represented in every hue and every shape, with different careers and different paths. You’re going to do that for people. That is a huge deal!"
Misty’s first project as the newly appointed brand ambassador is Estée Lauder’s Modern Muse perfume ($68-$120). (If you’re curious about the floral scent, it has “notes of jasmine, mandarin, patchouli, amber wood, and soft musk.”)
Misty posted a magazine-worthy Instagram pic of her applying the scent, noting, “I always apply fragrance before I step onto the stage.”
We’re sincerely hoping this is only the beginning of Misty x Estée Lauder. We’d love to see the two join forces on skin care designed for athletes. Sweat-proof everything in ballerina pink? Yes, please.
