Surprise! Missy Elliott has dropped a new song and video, and it’s LIT
SURPRISE! Iconic and legendary rapper Missy Elliott has dropped a brand new track and video called “I’m Better.”
Given that Missy hasn’t released an album in over 10 years, any new music from the star is extremely welcome. The star previously made her “come back” in 2015 with the Pharrell Williams assisted “WTF,” which later became a staple of Britney Spears’ Las Vegas show, by featuring on this Janet Jackson banger, and assisting Katy Perry during her Super Bowl show.
However, things were pretty quiet last year. While there were calls for MAC to create a Missy Elliott-inspired makeup collection (something that NEEDS to happen), and the rapper also appeared during Michelle Obama’s amazing Carpool Karaoke segment, we didn’t get any new music from her.
Now, however, it seems that the Missy revival is upon us again, and we can’t get enough of it!
The new track is a trap inspired bop, that features Lamb, and the accompanying video is EVERYTHING. Seriously, these visuals are STUNNING.

That’s not the only new Missy Elliott news, however. It was also revealed that the star had been working on a new documentary about the creation of her upcoming album, her first since 2005’s The Cookbook.
"It’s never just a record for me, Elliott says in a trailer for the documentary. “It’s never just making a hot record. I can do that in my sleep. But visually I have to see what I’m going to do with that record when I perform it.
