Millie Bobby Brown’s Engagement Ring Valued Up to $100,000, Says Gemologist
The 19-year-old actress reportedly just got engaged to Jon Bongiovi’s son Jake.
Still-technically teenaged Millie Bobby Brown is officially engaged! The Stranger Things star announced her engagement to Jake Bongiovi on Instagram. Surprised fans have already begun dropping comments congratulating the 19-year old actress and 20-year old son of singer Jon Bon Jovi. And the massive rock on Brown’s finger is dropping jaws as well.
“I’ve loved you three summers now, honey, I want ’em all,” Brown posted in the caption of the social media post, which featured a sweet image of the couple laughing and embracing on the beach, Brown’s engagement ring in full view.
HollywoodLife dug a little deeper to see how pricey the piece of jewelry could potentially be. They sourced some observatory intel from Olivia Landau, a GIA certified gemologist at The Clear Cut, a company specializing in bespoke engagement rings.
Landau hasn’t seen the ring in person, but based on her experience in the diamond industry, she stated that “Millie’s ring looks to be a round brilliant solitaire at approximately 3-3.5ct for the center stone.”
If you’re in the market for an engagement ring similar to the one on the Enola Holmes star’s finger, be prepared to pony up a few thousand dollars, or save up for a long time.
The ring Bongiovi chose could be valued anywhere “between $50K-$100K,” assuming the rock is also a natural diamond, Landau explains. It all depends on the quality of the diamond.
The fourth-generation gemologist gave her seal of approval for the happy couple’s choice of bling. “Round brilliants are timeless, super classic and will never go out of style,” she told HollywoodLife.
Brown and Bongiovi’s relationship timeline is a little murky. But many eagle-eyed fans say things became “official” in June 2021, when the college student posted a photo of himself driving around with the actress.
“Bff <3” was the simple caption on the post, but enough to have folks thinking the pair were an item.
The actress herself kept her relationship status quiet until November that same year, when she posted an image of the two kissing on the London Eye.
“We met on Instagram, and we were friends for a bit, and then, what can I say?” Brown has said publicly of their relationship timeline, during an interview promoting Enola Holmes 2.
Assuming the math is correct, that puts the ages of the engaged at approximately 17 and 18 when they went social media official.
The young fiancées have been getting lots of attention from celebrity friends and fans since the Apr. 11 announcement.
“OH MY GOD CONGRATS,” replied Noah Schnapp, who plays Will Byers on Stranger Things. Madison Bailey, another teen drama series star on Netflix’s Outer Banks, and acting veteran Aaron Paul, both left congratulatory notes as well.
