Millie Bobby Brown just broke this Time Most Influential People record
Today, April 19th, Time announced its 100 picks for the Most Influential People of 2018. As always, the issue was filled with leaders, entertainers, and change-makers, including survivors of the Parkland, Florida shooting. And among the list was Millie Bobby Brown, whose inclusion in the “Time 100″ made history.
According to CBS, this year’s “Time 100″ is the youngest iteration of the list ever. Time editor-in-chief Edward Felsenthal said on CBS This Morning that, including Brown, there were 45 people on the list younger than 40. And then he revealed that Brown was a record-breaker.
“We also have Millie Bobby Brown, the youngest person ever on the list at 14,” Felsenthal said on the program.
Brown’s short profile was written by none other than Aaron Paul (yes, they’re friends). The Breaking Bad actor wrote that when he first met Brown in an ice cream shop, he and his wife “superfanned her.” He also revealed that Brown has an uncanny wisdom for her age — or for someone of any age, for that matter.
“She somehow understands the human experience as if she has lived it for a thousand years,” Paul wrote. “I’m proud to know her. To call her a friend. To call her my adopted daughter.”

Although she is most widely known for portraying Eleven on Stranger Things, Brown has emerged as an outspoken proponent of gun control. In March, at the 2018 Kids’ Choice Awards, Brown sported a March For Our Lives shirt, and in her acceptance speech for the Favorite TV Actress award, she used her platform to pay tribute to the movement.
Being named one of Time‘s Most Influential People is a huge honor, and we can think of no one better to be the youngest person to receive this distinction. Congrats to Brown and to all of the other honorees!
