Millie Bobby Brown has launched a Twitter account to combat online hate and bullying

She might only be 13 years old, but Millie Bobby Brown wants to stop bullying and hate, and she’s using Twitter to do it.

The Stranger Things breakout star, who, along with her cast mates, is currently working on the second season of the Netflix hit, took to Twitter to share the news that she was launching a brand new account to help combat bullying. The actress’ move comes just days after Ed Sheeran deleted his Twitter account, supposedly after being trolled following his cameo on Game of Thrones.

Millie, of course, has previously spoken up about bullying, and last month sent out a tweet about standing up to the problem.

“Any kind of bullying is not okay. Internet bullying is also a major problem. Please don’t sit in silence❤️#StandUptoBullyingDay,” she wrote. false

Now, Millie is taking her campaign to another level.

The actress created a brand new account @MillieStopsHate on Twitter, before explaining her mission statement.

"Hey guys share stories and love! I love you all ," she wrote. "I will tweet encouragement and advice for situations that need love and help. ."

Soon after launching the account, fans started to share their stories with the young star, and she began to give out advice.

One specific fan shared her experiences with school bullies, and they noted that they were picked on and had things shouted at them.

Responding, Millie said, “Reply with: screaming is not the answer. I will do as you say if you tell me in an educated and kind way. Love u ❤️ stay strong .”

As we know, Twitter is a great tool, but it can also be volatile, with people spreading hate and abuse on the platform without much repercussion. While the social media company has taken steps to improve and battle this, it’s still a huge problem.

That’s why we love what Millie is doing. While she might only be 13, it’s great to see her using her platform to help others through the difficult periods in their lives.
