The first Millie Bobby Brown Godzilla teaser is here, and we’re not in Hawkins any more

Millie Bobby Brown is no stranger to fighting otherworldly creatures onscreen, thanks to her breakout role as Eleven in Stranger Things. And in the new teaser trailer for Godzilla: King of the Monsters, Brown once again plays a character dealing with a monstrous foe. As in, the monstrous foe.

Fans got a hint of what’s to come in the latest Godzilla movie when the teaser dropped on July 18th. According to EW.com, Brown plays Madison, whose mother, scientist Dr. Emma Russell, studies monsters with the organization Monarch. When Russell gets kidnapped, her ex-husband (and Madison’s father) sets off with the rest of Monarch to find her, running into some giant trouble in the form of monsters like Mothra, Rodan, and the three-headed King Ghidorah.

In the new teaser, we see Brown’s Madison desperately trying to reach Monarch from a home radio station (which, to be honest, is giving us serious A Quiet Place vibes). But when she finally manages to make contact with Monarch, what she hears is chilling.

The end of the teaser provides a link to the Twitter account @MonarchSciences. So far, the account has posted a link to a “Monarch” website, where fans can track Godzilla and read files on different monsters.

As Brown told magazine in 2017, Godzilla: King of the Monsters is her film debut. Unfortunately, we’ll have to wait a little longer before we can see our girl on the big screen. The Godzilla sequel opens on May 31st, 2019.
