This is how almost 50% of millennials survive Mercury Retrograde

When it comes to astrology, there are a lot of skeptics out there. Believing that the stars have a say in the direction of our lives is a difficult concept for some to grasp. However, according to a recent survey, if you’re a millennial, chances are you do believe in astrology. A lot. And there’s one thing almost half of millennials do to survive Mercury Retrograde (which is happening right now, FYI).
The survey data, provided by The Tylt, shows that not only do nearly 70% of millennials believe in astrology, but also that nearly three out of five Millennials believe in their horoscopes and find them helpful.
Interest in spirituality and astrology has been quietly booming for a few years now (a 2017 article in the New York Post proclaimed that millennials are “ditching religion for astrology”). It’s not really surprising. Since millennials have grown up in a topsy-turvy world filled with a lot of worry and despair, they’re trying finding comfort and security in whatever makes sense to them, and that’s the stars.
Now that we’re in the throes of Mercury Retrograde, it’s also not surprising that nearly half of millennials avoid making important decisions during this time. Mercury Retrograde, of course, is a frustrating three-week period in which Mercury goes backwards and creates havoc in our lives. Think travel delays, miscommunication, and tons of technological issues.
To survive Mercury Retrograde, millennials are putting pause on making major changes and just riding out the wave until Mercury goes forward again on April 15th.
Here’s one thing that’s not Mercury Retrograde’s fault: If you’re trying to date a millennial who believes in astrology but you’re getting the cold shoulder, it might be because your signs don’t align. One third of millennials admitted to The Tylt that they’ll only date someone whose zodiac sign is compatible with theirs, so your only fault is your date of birth.
Sorry! It just wasn’t written in the stars.
