Miley Cyrus had the weirdest, most endearing reason for deciding NOT to tour her new album
Most artists release an album so they can go on tour, because touring is actually how artists make money. Miley Cyrus recently released her sixth studio album, Younger Now, and even though her past tours were notorious for being giant, bombastic displays of showmanship, Cyrus says she’s not going to tour Younger Now.
During an interview with Howard Stern, who is known for delving into the private lives of celebrities and extracting the things that other interviewers do not, Cyrus admitted that she’s not touring because she wants to stay at home with her pet pigs. Yes, you read that correctly.
“Literally the only reason I’m not touring is because of those fucking pigs,” Cyrus revealed (via E! News). “That’s how much I love those pigs.”

Cyrus says that her priorities as an artist have shifted.
"If someone just wants to listen to my music and listen to my lyrics, that's enough for me," she told Stern.
Imagine telling your label that you can’t make them a boat-load of money in ticket sales because you gotta be at home with the pigs. Honestly, that’s how you know you’ve made it — when you can turn things down because you have to be a good mom to your pets.
Cyrus says she realized she had a voice and a platform after her disastrous 2013 MTV Video Music Awards performance. Although she has tried to distance herself from that viral twerk, the internet outrage that followed made her conscious that people will watch whatever she does.
"The reason why that's the best thing that's ever happened to me in my life is that's when I realized my power," Cyrus explained.
The next year, she brought a homeless teen as her VMA date.
It’s true that Cyrus wields a lot of power as a celebrity. Whether it’s the power to be heard when she speaks, or the power to skip a tour to hang with some pigs, Cyrus is taking advantage of it all.
