Miley Cyrus’ #tbt with Dolly Parton is everything we need and more today
Miley Cyrus is an Instagrammer if we ever saw one, sharing amazing pics with her BF Liam Hemsworth, her family, and the everyday-yet-photogenic mundaneness of life. Every so often, if we’re good enough, Cyrus will throw us a bone and share an ~amazing~ TBT pic. For Dolly Parton’s birthday, Cyrus shared an adorable throwback to her days on Disney Channel’s Hannah Montana.
In addition to serving as Cyrus’ IRL Godmother, the country legend was also the Godmother to Cyrus’ character on the TV series, Miley Stewart/Hannah Montana. In the amazing throwback, Cyrus is emulating Parton, complete with Parton’s iconic blonde wig.

Cyrus has been publicly critical of her time on the Disney Channel classic and acknowledged how far she’d come since the show in her fantastic caption. She wrote,
“TBT LOL Happy Birthday Aunt Dolly! WE (& by we I mean the entire world) LOVE you so much! Thank you for always making us SING & LAUGH along with you! You're truly magic! Best fairy godmother a gal could ever wish for by a million zillion! @dollyparton
This isn’t the first appearance for Parton on Cyrus’ Instagram. A few weeks ago, Cyrus posted a pic wearing a shirt with “Dolly Parton is my Fairy Godmother” emblazoned on the front.

The two are also incredibly supportive of each other’s charitable endeavors. Cyrus’ charity, The Happy Hippie Foundation, recently supported Parton’s Dollywood Foundation’s My People Fund, helping victims of the Tennessee wildfires.

Parton has also been loudly supportive of Cyrus’ public transition from child star to adult. Understanding what Cyrus is going through, Parton told People last year,
“Back in the day, doing my own things my own way, and dressing sexy and showing my cleavage and all that, I got a lot of criticism. Lots of people thought I was making a mistake and that I was just trashy, which I was. So I did go through that, but I don’t give her advice. Everyone has to walk this journey according to their own rules. That’s what she’s doing. And I lurve her.
