Get ready to LOL: Gwen Stefani, Pink, and Miley Cyrus read mean tweets about themselves

When most people tweet about a famous person, they usually aren’t operating under the assumption that the celeb will actually read their words. Of course, that’s exactly what makes Jimmy Kimmel’s “Mean Tweets” segment on Jimmy Kimmel Live! so cringe-worthy and hilarious. The late-night funnyman dropped an AMAs edition of “Mean Tweets” Tuesday, October 9th, forcing more than a few musicians to address their haters head-on.

"Gwen Stefani really is the worst thing to ever happen," Stefani read, staring blankly into the camera. "Period. Full stop. #Ughbarf." She then responded with one, simple word: "Owie."

Halsey also read a cruel tweet about herself: that “she sings like a goat being f-ked in the ass.” Seriously, ouch.

Thankfully, most of the musicians assembled seemed to take the criticism in stride. The Chainsmokers laughed out loud at a tweet about someone who actually fired their employee for defending the band. Pink said “thank you!” when told she was “aging pretty well for a pig.” Jason Mraz shrugged away being “the unofficial soundtrack” for bad barbecues.

It’s impossible to be a famous musician without turning off a few people—and Kimmel and his team managed to find some of the most creative insults out there. Watching G-Eazy read a tweet that he is “like the American cheese of cheeses, or the boxed wine of wine” will bring a necessary light to this strange, dark world. It’s also pretty satisfying to see Miley Cyrus give her hater the finger after calling her a “smelly pirate hooker.”
