All the reasons Miley is actually the perfect VMA host

No lie: We cannot WAIT for the MTV VMAs tonight. The outfits, the performances, the unexpected surprises nobody can ever possibly predict—it’s a notoriously wild night that only comes around once a year, and oh are we ready for it. This year’s show is going to be extra bonkers, because Miley Cyrus—the Queen of the VMAs—will be the night’s emcee. Apparently Miley Cyrus has free rein, and is following NO rules. Here are some reasons why that’s just awesome.

First of all, we know the VMAs are going to be a crazy party, because Miley said so herself on tumblr:

So, how crazy are the VMAs going to be this year exactly? Well, Miley actually answered that question on tumblr: “Dis gonna be da craziest vmazzzz of allllll herstory!” Miley wrote. 

Not only will the show be entertaining, but it’ll also be for a good cause.

Miley will be spreading awareness about The Happy Hippie Foundation, the nonprofit she launched earlier this year to help marginalized communities, like LGBT and homeless youth. The foundation actually started after Miley brought Jesse Helt as her date, and used her acceptance speech (she won Video of the Year for “Wrecking Ball”) as an opportunity to speak out about homeless youth. Rad.

  Miley is very, very familiar with the VMAs —she’s basically a professional. If you didn’t know, Miley has a serious history with the VMAs. Her first appearance was in 2008, when she was nominated for Best New Artist. If you look up “Miley Cyrus 2008 VMAs,” you might not recognize her —she’s wearing a black-sequined dress and her hair is brown, long, and curly. Miley skipped out on the 2009 and 2010 shows, but was back in 2011 with a long classy-but-edgy gown. And then, the 2013 VMAs happened.

Miley Cyrus introduced the NEW Miley Cyrus at the 2013 VMAs. And it was, uh, epic.

In 2012 she introduced her new short blonde hair on the VMA red carpet, and her fearless transformation really began to take off. 2013 was, of course, her year—who could forget that performance, or that foam finger? The twerking? All that tongue? Those bears? Nobody can forget.

She’s insanely excited about it, and it’s making us excited, too.

“Can’t wait for the world to see!” she continued on tumblr. “this is a show that has so many young stickyyyyy brainzzzz watching! great place to spread our message!”

We know things are going to get wild, and we can’t wait to see what Miley has in store for us.
