Miley Cyrus returned to Instagram with a mysterious post about new music, and we’re intrigued
Back in July 2018, with no announcement or fanfare, Miley Cyrus deleted all her Instagram photos. Then on November 26th, 2018, Cyrus’s fascinating career evolution took another left turn when she returned to the social media platform with a mysterious video of a heart-shaped disco ball, a name, and a date.
In the video, the disco ball twirls to the sound of an electric violin—it’s ominous and dramatic, and, dare we say, a new sound for the sometimes country artist sometimes hip-hop artist. Cyrus captioned the photo “11/29” and tagged music producer Mark Ronson. Pop Crave then tweeted that her new song is called “Nothing Breaks Like a Heart” and Cyrus retweeted it, which we took as a confirmation. In other words, Cyrus has new music coming out in three days.

Ronson was instrumental in making Lady Gaga’s Joanne album and people often forget that “Uptown Funk” is a Mark Ronson song that features Bruno Mars, and not the other way around. However, for this upcoming Cyrus song he’s not just a producer; instead, they appear to be equal participants. Case in point: Saturday Night Live announced that both of them are performing on the December 15th episode.
Ronson’s own social media has been overhauled to reflect this new musical venture and is referring to it as “The Heartbreak Era.”

We have a hunch that “The Heartbreak Era” is not a joint-musical-effort with Cyrus, but rather, it’s Ronson’s own upcoming project and “Nothing Breaks Like A Heart” is a song that features Cyrus’ vocals. We would guess that Ronson will continue to release a bunch of “Heartbreak” songs featuring vocals from other pop artists.

When Cyrus deleted all her Instagram photos this summer, fans panicked and assumed the worst. Was her relationship in danger, was she retiring? We’re happy to learn that she was just in the studio.
