Sir Mick Jagger’s eighth child’s name has been revealed and it’s very unique
Is there nothing more beautiful than a baby being born just in time for Christmas? Well it seems as though this year Santa blessed the Jagger family with an eighth sibling. There is no doubt that since Jagger is an iconic rock star he would have to give his son a name that is beyond major.
His daughter Elizabeth Jagger released a picture on Instagram, that is now deleted, but in the now-deleted photo we learned that Mick Jagger’s eighth child’s name is Deveraux Octavian Basil Jagger.
Almost a week ago Jagger welcomed his eighth child. At the time the public was not aware of the rock stars son’s name. But Elizabeth Jagger, one of Mick Jagger’s daughters, posted a picture of the newborn with the caption “My beautiful baby brother Deveraux Octavian Basil Jagger,” so now we know the couple went for an unique name.
Although some may be confused at the choice of name, it actually has sentimental meaning behind it. Basil was Mick’s late father’s first name, although many called him Joe, and Octavian means “born eighth” in Latin. So the name is actually perfect because it honors Jagger’s late father and the boy is the eighth Jagger child.
"Melanie Hamrick & Mick Jagger's son was born today in New York and they are both delighted," the singer's rep told E! News. "Mick was at the hospital for the arrival. Mother and baby are doing well and we request that the media respect their privacy at this time."
Congratulations are definitely in order for Melanie Hamrick and Mick Jagger!
