Michelle Obama revealed why she’ll “never forgive” Trump, and same
We’ve been eagerly awaiting Michelle Obama’s memoir, Becoming, since she announced it back in February 2018. The book, which (finally) debuts on November 13th, will reportedly delve into her life in Chicago’s South Side, as well as her eventual time as first lady in the White House. Now, the first reviews are in, and our former FLOTUS apparently doesn’t mince words when it comes to one Donald J. Trump.
According to The Washington Post, Obama wrote that she will “never forgive” Trump for helping to popularize the “birther” movement—the conspiracy theory that President Barack Obama is not a U.S. citizen.
"The whole [birther] thing was crazy and mean-spirited, of course, its underlying bigotry and xenophobia hardly concealed," Obama reportedly writes. "But it was also dangerous, deliberately meant to stir up the wingnuts and kooks."
She continues by discussing the ways in which the conspiracy endangered her family.
"What if someone with an unstable mind loaded a gun and drove to Washington? What if that person went looking for our girls? Donald Trump, with his loud and reckless innuendos, was putting my family’s safety at risk. And for this I’d never forgive him."

Obama doesn’t stop there when acknowledging her strong dislike of Trump. The Associated Press, which received an advance copy of Becoming, writes that Obama is incredulous over how many women voted for a “misogynist” over “an exceptionally qualified female candidate.” She also describes how her body “buzzed with fury” after the release of the Access Hollywood tape. She recalls the experience of watching Trump “stalk” Hillary Clinton during one of the presidential debates.
According to the AP, Obama’s takeaway from these moments is that Trump was sending a message: “I can hurt you and get away with it.” The AP notes that these words are presented in bold text in Becoming.
Trump, meanwhile, responded to Obama’s remarks by deflecting the conversation back to her husband, claiming he’ll never forgive Barack Obama for making America “less safe.”

Needless to say, we can’t wait to read Becoming in its entirety when it hits shelves on November 13th.
