Michelle Obama just posted the most romantic Valentine’s Day playlist for Barack
Even after 25 years of marriage, Michelle Obama knows how to keep her love fresh. In celebration of Valentine’s Day, the former first lady decided to show her husband how much he means to her by compiling a few choice music tracks. Not only is it a gift to Barack Obama, but it’s a gift to us, as well.
The playlist, which she posted to Instagram, is called “Forever Mine: Michelle to Barack.” She even included a cover image of the pair, in which her hand rests lovingly on Barack’s back (*sob*). Let’s just say that you can’t fake chemistry, and this photo has “I love you” written all over it.
Barack and Michelle Obama got married on October 3rd, 1992 after meeting at Sidley Austin LLP. Michelle Obama, then known as Michelle Robinson, was assigned to be Barack’s mentor. From there, love blossomed — even though Michelle was reportedly a little hesitant at first. They had their first date in 1989 and got engaged in 1991 at a dinner initially celebrating Barack passing the bar exam.
The playlist is available on Spotify, and everyone has access.
Michelle chose 44 tracks to celebrate Barack, including an opener of “Forever Mine” by Andra Day and a closer of “All Of Me” by John Legend. Stevie Wonder, Ed Sheeran, Adele, Whitney Houston, Beyoncé, and Diana Ross also make appearances on the mix.
Barack made sure to wish Michelle a happy Valentine’s Day on Instagram as well, posting a gorgeous photo of the two of them.
Thanks for the epic playlist, Michelle. It’s the perfect way to complement the day, whether you’re coupled up or not.
