Michelle Obama tells Stephen Colbert her post-White House plans. One word: Target

Less than 24 hours after announcing her new #62MillionGirls education initiative, First Lady Michelle Obama hit the late night circuit, making a guest appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. After a discussion of her new project with the show’s ever-charming host, including hashing out why Colbert wasn’t invited to be the First Lady’s “date” at the most recent state dinner,  Mrs. Obama finally shared her post-White House plans.

“I want to do little things like open a window,” the soon-to-be former First Lady said, throwing her hands up in mock frustration. “I want to go to Target!”

Oh Michelle, we all want to go to Target—all the time.

“I want to drive,” she continued. “I can’t open my windows. I really can’t. The window opens if I press it in the car. Everybody’s like, ‘Oh my God, what was that?’”

“I’m sorry, you don’t have security clearance to open that window,” Colbert joked. “We’ll get you a canister of fresh air, Madame First Lady.”

From there, she mentioned how her lead Secret Service agent once let her keep the car windows down on the way to the Camp David presidential retreat.

“I was like, ‘Thanks, Alan,” said Mrs. Obama, flashing a thumbs up.
