Michelle Obama is going to appear on this wildly popular children’s show

Fans of the Disney Junior’s children’s show Doc McStuffins can expect a very important guest. First Lady Michelle Obama will be appearing as herself on the animated series for an upcoming episode. Doc McStuffins is a children’s series that follows Dottie “Doc” McStuffins (voiced by Kiara Muhammad) — a six-year-old girl who is a toy veterinarian. Using her ability to communicate with toys when she puts on her stethoscope, and with the help of her stuffed animal friends, she can help “fix” toys of their ailments. Created and produced by Chris Nee, the show has been well-received since it began airing in 2012, winning awards like the 2015 NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Children’s Program and the 2014 Peabody Award.

The First Lady’s official Twitter account shared the exciting news in a recent tweet.

A new clip released by Disney Junior previews the episode, showing a group of kids who travel to D.C. to be honored for making a difference in their communities. They even get a guided tour of the White House by none other than the First Lady. Doc gets the extra special honor of becoming the White House’s official toy doctor.

The show gives young children tips for taking care of their health, teaches them not to be afraid of going to the doctor, and has touches upon accepting differently abled toys. With the First Lady’s Let’s Move! program, which promotes healthy food choices and psychical activity for kids, it’s no surprise she would choose to be a part of Doc McStuffins.

The episode featuring the First Lady is set to air on October 5th, which is coincidentally Child Health Day.
