Michelle Branch just got engaged, and her ring is an Art Deco inspired delight
We have to say a MASSIVE congratulations to Michelle Branch and Patrick Carney who have just become engaged!
Carney, who is the drummer from the band The Black Keys, and Branch have been working closely together on the singer’s latest album Hopeless Romantic, which was released earlier this year and marked Branch’s first studio album in 14 years.
The pair met the same year that Branch got divorced from her ex-husband Teddy Landau, and on Hopeless Romantic the singer not only charters her split but also the experience of falling in love again, too.
Indeed, speaking to Billboard about working with Carney, the singer said that the album wouldn’t have even been made if it wasn’t for her now-fiancé.
“There’s such a safety being in a romantic relationship with someone who I work with creatively,” she said. “You don’t edit yourself. Patrick knows what I like, and I know what he’s into. There’s no bullshit.”

Well, while out celebrating Michelle Branch’s 34th birthday, it seems that Patrick Carney also popped the question, too!
Taking to Instagram, Branch shared the happy news.
"Thank you for all the birthday love and wishes," she wrote. "Last night, right before I blew out my candles, @officerpatrickcarney asked me to marry him and then I had nothing left to wish for ✨❤️ 34 might be the best year yet.
The singer then shared a close up picture of her engagement ring, which is an Art Deco delight.
While he didn’t mention their recent engagement, Carney also shared an adorable shoutout to his now-fiancée wishing her a happy birthday.
“Happy birthday to my main squeeze @michellebranch I’ll be on the road with her all summer and available for salad recipe exchanges!!!! Come check it out,” he wrote.
These two are clearly pretty in love with each other. So much so, in fact, that Michelle Branch and her 11-year-old daughter Owen relocated to Nashville to be closer to Carney.
“He’s an amazing, amazing human,” the singer gushed to People in April. “We both just jumped in with both feet.”
